Wow.. they pulled it out!

So I'm sitting here at 5:22 PM on a Saturday evening thinking "Man, I really really need to get to the event I booked for 5:30" but there's 2 minutes left in the game, and we're down by 2. Realizing that my bands duties take precedent over my desire to hear the football game, I take off for Grant Hall at a slow banter. Only when I get to Grant do I realize that I have a radio in the basement. I grab it, run upstairs, and set the dial to 101.9.

I tune in to hear the following....

"The Gaels have one last chance to win this one. They're kicking for the field goal from the 32-yard line into the wind, with a kicker who is playing in his first ever CIS game..." Oh Christ... "Here's the snap - and the kick is no good! The York receiver gets the ball, and runs around trying to eat up the clock." So I think the game is over at this point, and I start downstairs to get my drum....

"Wait, there's a fumble!!!!! The Gaels recover, and are going to have another chance to win this one!" WTF? This shit doesn't happen in real life... "It appears that Sheahan is going out there to kick this one. The Gaels set up for the play from about 15 yards out, here's the snap, the kick is up and it's GOOD!!!! The Gaels have won the game 17-16!!!"

So, in a 0-4 season, I decide to stay home for one of the two wins we're likely to get.

Shoot me now, but go Gaels!!

Comments:
Wish I could have been there.

Also, damn you for giving away all the good plays because my internet broadcast was slower
